Dr. Jasmine Bauknight, MD, is an orthopaedic hand surgeon and upper extremity surgeon with expertise in treating conditions in the elbow, wrist, forearm, hand and fingers. She treats pain, fractures, and arthritis in the elbow, forearm, wrist, hand (including “boxer’s fractures”) and fingers. Other conditions of the hand she treats include Dupuytren’s contracture (a deformity in the hand that causes fingers to bend), and avocado hand, which refers to hand injuries sustained from improperly cutting avocados. In the wrist, she treats ganglion cysts, and wrist pain due to TFCC injuries.
Dr. Bauknight is an expert in treating conditions originating in the elbow, including sports injuries such as tennis elbow and golf elbow and tendonitis. She is adept at treating other tendon-related ailments such as tendon laceration or rupture, DeQuervain’s tenosynovitis (common in new parents from the repetitive motion of lifting a baby), mallet finger, and trigger finger. Dr. Bauknight also specializes in nerve conditions such as nerve lacerations, and carpal and cubital tunnel syndrome. She is skilled in the surgical treatment of ligament injuries such as scapholunate ligament tears and skier’s thumb, (thumb MCP UCL tear).
