Dr. Vijay Babu Balakrishnan is a graduate of Chegalpattu Medical College where he received his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery. He went on to receive his Doctor of Medicine in Nuclear Medicine (MD) at All India Institute of Medical Sciences in Delhi, India. Dr. Balakrishnan completed his residency at Abington Memorial Hospital in Abington, Pennsylvania where he became Chief Resident of Internal Medicine. He won the Best Resident award at Abington Memorial Hospital in 2009. Dr. Balakrishnan then went on to become the Chief Fellow in the Department of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He has extensive experience in Clinical endocrinology, Thyroid disorders, insulin pumps, and continuous glucose monitors. He is medical director of Endocrinology at Shore Physicians Group in Somers Point, NJ. He enjoys spending time with his wife and two children.
