Ana M Cilursu, MD, FACP, FACR was born in New Jersey where she lived until the age of 13. Her family then moved to Brazil (her father's native country) where she went to high school and then medical school at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. After graduation, she came back to New Jersey where she completed her residency in Internal Medicine. She then moved to Iowa to complete a two year fellowship in Internal Medicine, followed by another two years in the Rheumatology Fellowship program at the University of Iowa. In 1992 she returned to New Jersey to join the teaching faculty at Atlantic City Medical Center (now known as AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center). She remained a member of the teaching faculty there for more than 25 years, and for several years she was the Program Director for the Internal Medicine Residency Program. After a year-long sabbatical, she joined Shore Physicians Group in 2015 to continue to practice Rheumatology. She provides the best possible care, by genuinely taking an interest in a holistic approach to her patient's well being. She has numerous patients who have followed her throughout her career and remain dedicated and loyal patients in her current practice. At the end of the day, her primary goal is to have made a positive difference in the life of her patients. She is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians and a Fellow of the American College of Rheumatology. Her interest in Medicine was sparked by her pediatrician who remained a positive role model through her formative years. She enjoys different types of crafts and is a passionate animal lover. She is the current President of the Board of Directors of the Humane Society of Atlantic County.
