Dr. Lau is a practicing general surgeon with special interests in soft tissue and breast. She joins Shore Physicians Group from Salem Medical Center in Salem, NJ. She completed her undergraduate studies in Neurobiology and Psychology at the University of Washington and completed her medical training at University of Missouri - Kansas City, where she earned her Doctor of Medicine. She has been a NJ resident since 2014, where she completed her General Surgery Residency program at Rutgers. Dr. Lau grew up in Hong Kong and spent her adolescence in Hawaii. She considers healthcare to be one of the most rewarding careers. She believes having the ability to utilize scientific knowledge to identify problems and relieve suffering is a privilege. With that privilege, her goal is patient empowerment and advocacy. She enjoys working with patients as their partner in health, guiding them to make decisions that are most aligned with their personal goals. When Dr. Lau is not caring for patients, she enjoys cooking, hiking, running and swimming.
